The images below were taken in early Spring and clearly show the runway area with the surrounding field shapes. The entire airfield is now grassed and it can be more difficult to see until you are quite close. Look for the windsock and the point of the large wooded area to the West of the airfield.
When the hay crop has been taken from the areas surrounding the runway, from a distance it can sometimes be even more difficult to see where the runway lies against the rough areas on each side. You must be very careful that you are landing on the runway and not on the rough area between the runway edge and the electric fence, which runs either side. This ground is not suitable for any aircraft movement. If you are on the runway you will be at least 45 ft from the electric fence, which is about 4 feet high and runs along most of the runway sides.
